List of Document Required for India visa application
  1. Passport with 6 months validity beyond the period for which the visa is being sought
  2. Recent passport-sized 45mm X 35mm photograph
  3. Completed Application form signed and dated
  4. In case of non-Japanese nationals, please also bring the following photo copies (A4 size)
    • passport particulars page - the page which carries your photograph and personal details
    • Japan visa page
    • Alien Registration Card both front side and back side of the card
    • If you have received India visa previously, the latest India visa page prior to this application
  5. Depending on the type of visa applied, the following additional documents will be required

Business Visa (B)
  1. Invitation letter from company in India
  2. Recommendation letter from company in Japan
Conference Visa (C) Conference Visa covers symposium, seminar, summit, workshop, congress
  1. Invitation letter from company in India

Employment Visa (E)
  1. Invitation letter from company in India
  2. Recommendation letter from company in Japan
  3. Curriculum Vitae or personal history
  4. Copy of employment terms and conditions
  5. Letter from Reserve Bank of India(RBI) or Certificate of Incorporation(COI) or other document showing the company is registered in India
  6. Government of India Foreign Collaboration(GOI) letter may be necessary in some cases.
Journalist Visa (J)
  1. Prior clearance and approval letter from the Press Information & Culture (PIC) section, Embassy of India, Tokyo
Research Visa (R)
  1. Prior clearance and approval letter from the Press Information & Culture (PIC) section, Embassy of India, Tokyo
Student Visa (S)
  1. Letter of admission
  2. Financial Proof (Bank Certificate)
  3. Personal History
  4. For students under Indian scholarships, applicants must first procure a letter from the Education Wing of the Embassy of India, Tokyo
Tourist Visa (T)
Transit Visa (TR)
  1. If applicable, Destination Visa
  2. Copy of confirmed air ticket
X-entry Visa (X) Documents required to justify entry is dependent on the situation, as entry visa covers such diverse fields as spouse visa, AIESEC internships, UNESCO, MOFA, JOCV volunteers, training, exhibition, festival, forum etc.

Entry visa to join working husband
  1. Copy of husband's passport and India visa
  2. Recommendation letter from company in Japan
  3. Copy of Registration Report and Residential Permit of husband in India

Entry visa for AIESEC
  1. Recommendation letter from AIESEC Japan and Invitation letter from AIESEC India
  2. Recommendation letter from company in Japan
  3. Letter from acceptance company ( company registration may be required )
Medical Treatment Visa (M)
  1. Purpose of visit
  2. Medical documents from hospital
Medical Attendant Visa (MX)
  1. Application letter from the holder of the medical treatment visa along with a copy of the M-treatment visa
