Photograph must be

1. A recent one (not more than 6 months old) & should be in colour;

2. Taken against a light background (white) so that features are distinguishable and contrast against the background;

3. Printed on normal photographic paper;

4. Un-mounted – 45mm X 35mm in size;

5. Clear and Good quality.

If wearing glasses:

The photograph must show the eyes clearly with no flash reflection off the glasses, and no tinted lenses (if possible, avoid heavy frames- lighter framed glasses to be worn)

Make sure that the frames do not cover any part of the eyes.

Head-coverings:

Are not permitted except for religious reasons, but the facial features from bottom of chin to top of forehead and both edges of the face must be clearly visible.

The photographs must

Show face only (no chair backs, toys or other people visible), looking at the camera with a neutral expression and the mouth closed.

Be in colour and show the eyes open and clearly visible with no hair across the eyes
Show face straight on to the camera, not looking over one shoulder (portrait style) or tilted, and showing both edges of the face clearly.  

Be taken with a plain light-coloured background and taken with uniform lighting, not showing shadows or flash reflections on the face and no red eye

The photographs must be:

45mm X 35mm in size, close up of head and top of shoulders so that face takes up 70-80% of the photograph in sharp focus, clear and of high quality with no marks

The photographs must:

Show face looking directly at the camera

Show skin tones naturally

Have appropriate brightness and contrast at high resolution

Must be taken with a digital camera and  high quality colour
